Chiung-Wen Hsu was born 1985 in Hsin-Chu, Taiwan. She received her first piano lessons at age of four and additionally clarinet at nine. In 1999 she was shortlisted to participate at the international Taiwan Piano Festival with Professor Sontraud Speidel.
Since 2003 in Germany, she studied from 2004 piano at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen with the outstanding Professor Patrick O’Byrne. She completed 2010 her degree with the publicly piano concert and the grad „sehr gut“ („very good“).
After her degree she visited 2010 for a further year, in her new choiced home city of Munich, the Hochschule für Musik und Theater to deepen her knowledge in the field of piano pedagogy,
Alongside her meanwhile longstanding activity as piano instructor for children and adults, her musical passion is devoted to composition. Therefore she completed 2011/12 a course as arrangeur and film composer at the academy Deutsche Pop Munich.
Her repertoire consists of works by these artists: Johann Sebastian Bach, Bela Bartok, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin, Joseph Haydn, Franz List, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Olivier Messiaen, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Sergei Prokofiev and Domenico Scarlatti among others.
Her capacities are, besides piano teaching, concert venues, chamber music, lied accompaniment, correpetition and event appearences.
Ching-Wen Hsu is as well member of the Tonkünstlerverband München and organize regularly concerts with her students.
